Ask HN: Best (minimal) customer support software?
Hi HN,
Curious what people's opinions are here on best practices & tools to setup a simple, manageable email support channel (for a SaaS).
There seem to be a million options out there and a lot of bloated/complex software.
Looking to transition away from a simple email client but ideally to a minimal, works-out-of-the-box solution.
Thoughts/experiences?
If you want to move away from email client into web-based solutions take a look at:
- https://sitracker.org/ - https://bestpractical.com/request-tracker - https://otrs.com/product-otrs/otrs-community-edition/ - https://osticket.com/ - https://www.zoho.com/desk/
Any self-hosted ticket system sound good. eMail can be a source for ticket creation however tickets are processed via a web interface.
https://osticket.com is one such software
In case anyone is interested, I ended up going with Helpscout: I find it to have the easiest/simplest interface.
I also looked at Front, Intercom, and Zoho.
Freescout is really good. Been using it for 2 years with a team of 5-6. Highly recommended.
