Depends on what you want a career in I guess, and whether you're extroverted or introverted. I would think that a sales/marketing job or a desire for management would require in-office team sports. However, an IT position would require technical chops and deliverables rather than how well one schmoozes. Different strokes.

(One does wonder - are his children going to private school and that's where his COVID exposure risk lies, or are they privately educated and shielded?)
