Ask HN: Why is Roblox allowed on the iOS app store?

I have a question, why is Roblox allowed on the iOS app store? The reason I ask is because I have an idea that involves people sharing code that is sandboxed but this is ostensibly not allowed by iOS app store guidelines... How does Roblox get around this requirement? It seems like they are getting special treatment?

Roblox allows developers to upload a custom game mod accessible through the main game. So it's somewhat like an app store. Those games can also generate revenue for the creators and Roblox, through virtual items etc.

You might find better answers by asking/searching for reasons “Pythonista” and “Carnets” are allowed.
