Show HN: An accessible, beautiful Raspberry Pi Pico pinout
pico.pinout.xyzI wanted to create an accessible alternative to the official Pico pinout image, offering more complete pin details, light/dark modes, screen-readable text, and at least some capacity to focus on the peripherals you’re interested in. It’s a sister site to the now ancient Raspberry Pi pinout (https://pinout.xyz/) which started out life hosted on a Raspberry Pi.
The pinout design is nice, but I'm almost more impressed by the favicon – its very clever and looks great (I noticed it when bookmarking the site).
Thanks! Aha, that was made in a bit of a hurry for pinout.xyz back in July 2013 when uhh I fell afoul of Raspberry Pi trademark terms! Necessity is the mother of invention.
Oh wait, did I forget about the Pi, Pi[co], Pi[nout] logo?- I was thinking of the earlier pixel-Raspberry logo.
The last time I worked on a raspberry pi-based project I made extensive use of pinout.xyz, and this new page looks to be a great evolution - thank you for creating them!
I've had a raspberry pi device project in my head for a while so this is helpful and timely
Why can't pinout.xyz look like this?
That’s a good question- it could probably adopt some of the things I’ve learned from the Pico layout (light/dark modes for starters) but it’s left-aligned in order to fit text and details about individual add-on boards. It also once had a Pi outline peeking in from the top left to help people orient the pinout.
what's the deal with raspberry pi are you still allowed to buy only one per person?
How do I summon Jeff Geerling - he just interviewed Eben on this very topic.
I can say that we - by which I mean my employer Pimoroni - will now sell you a whopping TEN Pi Zero W boards in one order.
it's like i go to a soda fountain and put in a nickel and it dribbles ten drops of soda into my cup then tells me to come back an hour later
Once the shortage abates completely, you could fill up your soda cup with Pi Zero though :)
I’m a little distracted by this soda fountain you seem to frequent
What about the 2W?
As best we understand once the supply chain issues with the parts that the 2W relies on are resolved that too will be similarly available.
All Pi products have a different bill of materials (or they wouldn't be different products) so they are all affected in different ways by the issues of the past couple of years.
Patience will be rewarded, etc.
