I was never able to confirm anything official but I always had trouble uploading large files (multiple GBs) on Starlink despite having great service otherwise.
I don't know enough about Starlink's mitigation of IP issues for their architecture, or the status of transitioning from a "bent pipe" to an orbiting "backbone" but: I wonder if it is an intentional cap, or just a performance characteristic.
Radio spectrum is precious community when shared with other stations. Does not matter if it is satellite, 4G (reason for pushing 5G) or WiFi (reason why people migrated from 2,5GHz to 5GHz).
