Neat animation that might have several possible uses outside the proposed. Be kind of cool for a 3D Tron Lightcycle type of game or environment. 2D sphere surface (or cube) doesn't have quite the strict 2D square issues of the traditional Tron Lightcycle.
Was also looking at Marine Microrganisms [1] because of the Ars link earlier about the plethora of organisms away from the Earth's surface, and the general idea of the tubules on a surface has quite a bit of similarity to collections like Pelagibacter ubique [2]
Might also be interesting as an alternative on the game of life types of ideas, with rulesets about how the tubules are motivated to move relative to each other, rather than a priori specified movement paths.
Wait what I thought this was going to be about snails and how you can use sugar cubes to appease them so they won't totally destroy your garden. Disappointment of the day :(

Today I added apps for macOS and Windows (which will work on Linux using Wine).

If appeasement politics don’t work and you have a (bit of a cruel IMO) dislike for slugs you can use salt cubes
