LLMs and transformers use a statistical approximation to generate information (whether it's text or images, etc). As a result it mostly limited to providing an average response... which in general is not that useful. When it comes to writing code, creating art, or anything interesting (which tends to be creative), the useful solutions tend to be novel, unique, or at least outside of the average. With code, if you're creating an average app then you can probably copy/paste from online examples, but those apps aren't interesting. With art, if you draw or model something that is average, even if it's perfectly rendered, it's still not that interesting.

AI will definitely change many industries because it's a powerful tool, but it's a tool that will affect non-creative repetitive tasks like summarizing text, clip art, boilerplate code, etc. For AI to be truly useful it will need to be truly creative.
