Quitting nicotine is hard—most people either go cold turkey and struggle or rely on willpower alone. I started building Weanie after my own struggle to quit smoking. Cold turkey wasn’t working for me, and I realised most quit-nic apps weren’t designed for gradual reduction. So I built Weanie - a way to taper off smoking or vaping over time.

Since launching, I've learned a lot about behaviourial change, the psychology of addiction, and what actually keeps people engaged in quitting. I’ve also faced the challenge of building a consumer health app with retention in mind, figuring out monetisation (paywalls, free trials and plan optimisation), and gathering analytics without overwhelming our early adopters.

Happy to answer questions about the product, quitting strategies, or what it’s like to build something like this. Would love feedback from anyone who’s tackled similar problems!
