My hit game has been ripped off more than 50 times in less than a week

My web game 368 chickens went viral last week with over 500k unique players.

I've now found over 50 websites that have already directly ripped off my code or reskinned the game.

Some of them have just directly copy and pasted my code with some minor design changes whilst others are just embedding my original version in an iframe and running ads in front of it.

As my site is new these alternatives are also ranking before me in Google.

Is there anything I can do about this?

You probably generated a lot of back links. I would just add some more content to the page that establishes you as the original, how the game works etc

Fix up the page content for SEO and you should always appear first anyway.

the iframe part can be subverted with: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2896623/how-to-prevent-m...

as mentioned already, better SEO should rank you higher

you could possibly play games with CORS and some required resource for the game to run, obfuscating the code, etc; but this is far from perfect - would just stop the lower-end idiots

on the other hand, emulation is the most sincere form of flattery - it's obvious that what you made is good, and at the very least, you can hold your own head high
