I wouldn’t put it past Altman to intentionally nerf GPT5 to create a negative sentiment cascade that artificially pops the bubble, then right at the correct (for OpenAI) moment, reveals their actual generational leap. The bubble in the meantime
would cause an evolutionary strain that would shutter many competitors and create a rich talent environment.
