Ask HN: Banned incorrectly from Facebook Marketplace. What can I do about it?
I was banned from Facebook Marketplace because its automated system thought a bicycle I had posted was a gun. It... was a bicycle (a 2022 Specialized Enduro, for those curious).
I reposted the same listing (a bicycle!) and it flagged me for evasion and permanently banned me.
I can't figure out how to solve this. I've filed "appeals" (they go nowhere), and no matter what I do I can't seem to get in contact with someone who can help here.
How have others navigated similar things with big tech that has no visible, helpful support?
If you don't know someone high up at Facebook, chances are you're stuck. Facebook has no real support staff left outside of things like ads that bring in actual revenue.
