I can't prove it, but I think AI is causing me brain damage
Not sure what to do, worked in software engineering for nearly 20 years now. And the last several years of working on this stuff has caused what I can only describe as significant cognitive corrosion. Hoping to transition out of this career or into a new role as soon as I can where I can use this tech significantly less.
AI atrophies the brain. If you don't use a muscle, it atrophies.
You know the solution.
I would guess this is what the managers and PMs had been feeling for all those years while we developers were happy writing our code. I actually feel much more sympathy to my managers now that I'm kind of managing a team of very productive, but very much not brilliant agents. So sad.
This analogy makes no sense to me. Being a good manager requires strong interpersonal skills. "Managing" your team of agents does not make you a leader.
